Scan is a program which is designed to scan all files on a floppy disk or hard disk, checking for errors. It will read every sector of both the data and resource forks, and report any error it finds. Scan does not check unused sectors on the disk, but will verify that every allocated sector can be read. If the disk can be read without error, chances are it is good. If an error occurs, the file name, sector number within the fork (resource or data), and error number will be reported. If you suspect that you have bad data on a disk, Scan should be able to find it. Scan is free; it may be distributed as long as the copyright notice remains intact. There are no fees required, and no other restrictions on distribution.
